OK KID - Kaffee Warm 3 dalszöveg fordítás angol nyelvre

Coffee Warm 3

1
you're with me again
nobody but you
manages to juggle with words that good 2
so that I'm spinning, myself, with every sentence
you're right, everything has already been said, actually
and you're asking if I'll stay until tomorrow
I'm tired already
it would be nice if you stayed upstairs
the old pattern is easy to knit
but eats us alive
every butterfly from back then
only moths inside the stomach

(chorus)
and the gut feeling greets you once again
and it always stings from the side
when your head's already on the ground
and then everything's out there again
only honest with myself, the idiot I am
when it's not worth it at all anymore

why are you looking at me like that?
as if there was anything here
that could change our world
I can't do it
I'm asking myself what you are waiting for
you're searching for your fault
in the coffee not being warm anymore
we tried it
ripped open the filter
searched through the grind
waited for three years
cursed Febuary 3
brewed up everything once more
but you were nowhere

(chorus)
and the gut feeling greets you once again
and it always stings from the side
when your head's already on the ground
and then everything's out there again
only honest with myself, the idiot I am
when it's not worth it at all anymore

I just want you to know, that I know, what I want 4

  • 1. the german title which is 'Kaffee Warm 3' doesn't make sense all on it's own, so the translation seems weird. it's a shortened version of one sentence from the chorus of 'Kaffee Warm (1)' which is 'I keep the coffee warm for you'
  • 2. the literal translation would be 'nobody but you manages to juggle with words better' which doesn't make any sense because the german sentence is gramatically incorrect.
  • 3. in their song 'Februar' (='Febuary') they talk about how they want Febuary gone. The chorus states: 'Reiß die Tage aus, dann im nächsten Jahr 28 weniger, endlich nie mehr Februar' which translates to 'Rip out the days [pages of a calender], and next year there's 28 less [days], finally, there's no Febuary ever again'
  • 4. this is a reference to a song they did a few years ago called 'Kaffee Warm' in which a similar sentence stated 'I don't want you to know that I don't know what I want', so this line shows personal growth.
