he then appealed to the mercy of Holy Mary, asking Her
to beseech Her Son that he not allow
the devil to hold the soul of his monk imprisoned.

At once, Holy Mary went to Her Son the Savior
to ask Him to pardon that friar for Her sake.
He replied: 'Mother, I shall do it, for it so pleases you.
Restore the soul to his body and let him fulfill his calling.'

When God granted this prayer for Holy Mary,
the friar who was dead rose to his feet.
He told the community how he would have perished were
if not for Holy Mary, to whose service God entrusted him.
