Oh, Latvia!

Oh, Latvia where are your sons
Scattered throughout the edges?
Some stay in hot war field
Some come home mutilated

Some mothers raise their son
For themselves in their thoughts
But then they look, already too late
It rests in peace in foreign trenches long

Not even one flower, not even one rose bud
Isn't put on his grave
Only lonely sun beams
Who greets him and beatify him

Oh, Latvia where are your sons
Scattered throughout the edges?
Some stay in hot war field
Some come home mutilated

Lost Ways

I don't find ways
I won't find destinations to, with you,
With the moonlight,
I can send you
An anthem of longing
From heart, from my heart
A ship sailing around
on the waves and always under de sun
of lost sails
In the loneliness and distance
I don't know where you are
I don't know where I am
I'm always looking for you
Oh, babe, I'll send you flowers
I'll send it to waves
Even if I don't know where they're going to
Or where they will die
Maybe in your hands
The roses change their colors
And, with the heart,
They live of love
A ship sailing around
on the waves and always under de sun
of lost sails
In the loneliness and distance
I don't know where you are
I don't know where I am
I'm always looking for you
Missing love
I don't know where you are
I don't know where I am
Looking for you
Missing love
One day I'll find you
Burning love

Simón The Gravedigger

Yesterday afternoon they buried
the daughter of Juan Simón,
Simón was the town's
only gravedigger,
only gravedigger.

When she breathed her
last breath in his arms,
he buried his own daughter,
to the cemetery he took her
to the cemetery he took her.

He dug the grave himself
murmuring a prayer,
saying goodbye forever
to the daughter of Juan Simón,
to the daughter of Juan Simón.

And crying like a child
he left the cemetery,
with a stick in hand
and a mattock on his shoulder,
and a mattock on his shoulder.

The people asked him:
'where are you coming from, Simón?'
and as he wiped away his tears,
in a hushed voice he answered,
in a hushed voice he answered:

'I am a gravedigger and I've come
from burying my heart,
I am a gravedigger and I've come
from burying my heart,
from burying my heart'.

You My Love

You my love, my love, if you listen to me—
see, my heart is close to you.
Yes, my love, my love,
do not doubt that I forget you in spite of myself.

You are always too far from the ones you love,
always too far from their love.

You my love, my love,
those words that I love—yes, I write them for you.
You my love, my friend,
do not suffer further—soon I will be near you.

You are always too far from the ones you love,
always too far from their love.

How my love, my love,
my tears flow—no, not a soul sees them.
Yes, my love, my love,
I see the emptiness if your heart did not wait.

You are always too far from the ones you love,
always too far from their love.

You are always too far from the ones you love.
Tonight, I am frightened for our love.

Exile

When we don't have the fatherland that we have
Lost by silence and by resignation
Even the voice of the sea renders itself exile
And the light that surrounds us is like a lattice
